Not being as established as other restaurants on the west coast, CinCin is located right by the sea. However, its decor impresses with white wall interior and uncluttered, hardwood floors with simple cream and grey furnishings. The panoramic view on the dining terrace overlooking the Caribbean sea is magnificent and totally worth a visit.
What’s more, the food lives up to its sound ambiente, including creative dishes from both the Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisine. You will be able to get a real taste of jumbo crab cakes with pickled mango; spiced Atlantic salmon; or fresh king scallops. Apart from that you will have the choice of their own inventive Italian pastas to classical Provencal bouillabaisse and steak.

What about all the vegetarians out there? Barbados is known for its jerk chicken, goat curry and fried fish, but don’t you worry kids! There is even a hot spot for vegetarians on the glorious island. Not long ago in July this year, a new veggie Bar has opened up at the Couples Barbados hotel resort. At this all-inclusive resort for adults, the Veggie Bar – as it is called at the Yes Please restaurant – is located inside the resort in a bright and spacious room decorated in white and dusk pink. Moreover, to give it a fun and festive, potted plants are adorning the walls with pink flamingo lilies on the table tops. Yeah, the place doesn’t save up on a welcoming environment.
A colourful menu with wraps, pittas, rotis are substantial meals, but the exquisite taste with a very talent filled kitchen, brings you proper Barbados home food on to your plate. Besides that highlights include a spinach and sun-dried tomato focaccia with grilled vegetables and organic basil pesto, which is a hot dish nowadays. The Veggie Bar at Yes Please has what it takes to be one of the best restaurants not just for vegetarians but for vegans as well, from beautiful vibes to great service – all set in an amazing location on the island for couples. And don’t forget – the restaurant is open for any guest, as long as you leave with a smile on your face!
Oistins Fish Fry
Friday night is always fish night in Barbados and the place to be is at Oistins Fish Fry. Oistins is an active fishing town in the south of Barbados and on Fridays the local fish market goes crazy with colourful stalls and frying cabins surrounding picnic tables and seated dining areas for tourists. Here is already a little tip for all the newbies out there – While you are looking for a high quality meal, the best way of getting that is to pick the stall with the longest queue. Very often Uncle George’s Fish Net Grill is the place to be with fresh shrimps, flying fish, or marlin. The food there is delicious and fresh, but queues can easily stretch to an hour after 7pm.
While you have your local food, such as prepared fish and chips, you can experiencethe entertainment that takes place around you. Reggae bands blasting music all night to ballroom music with couples dancing – It is basically a great Friday night next to the beach with great food and awesome evening entertainment.
Cuz’s Fish Shack
Address: Needham’s Point, Bridgetown, Barbados
Cuz’s Fish Shack is pretty famous among the local divers, who look for a quick energy boost after a dense dive spent in the sea. Although it doesn’t look like a fancy luxury restaurant, the low cost shack stands out from the crowd with its bright colours and a great choice for lunch. Their fish sandwiches are known to be the best in the whole Barbados. A freshly prepared fish, topped with crispy salad, a fried egg and cheese is all tucked into a tasty and fluffy white bun for a very reasonable price!
But you’ll need to show some patience, as all sandwiches are freshly prepared after the order is made, in order to ensure customers an amazing fresh taste. But don’t worry; you can kill time in the shade of a palm tree on the beach close to the shack. Whaat makes this shack even more unique is the fact that there are a plenty of different types of fish to choose from, such as dorado, marlin or flying fish!
